"Project of the Year": The Leopold Bloom Art Award

winner of the Summa Artium Award in the Project Category

Summa Artium is a non-for-profit organization, which inaugurated the Maecenas Day and the Summa Artium Awards seven years ago in order to appreciate those companies or individuals who finacially support culture and various fields of art in an outstanding way.

This year the Awards were presented in 3 categories: Contemporary Art / Project / Patron of the Year. From the incoming nominations the jury preselected 3 companies / individuals in each category.

The Project Category Award is given every year to the most exciting partnership between a company and a cultural institution. The success of the co-operation is measured on not so much the amount of money invested but the efficient use of both partners’ resources in a way that benefited most both the sponsor and the sponsored partner.

Members of the Jury in 2011:
Péter Szauer, Head of the Jury (CEO of HVG Zrt.); Péter Dávid (CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary); Dr. Gabriella Kádár (Deputy CEO of CIG-Pannonia Life Insurance); Zsuzsanna Károlyi (Head of Communication of E.ON Hungária Zrt.); Gabriella Liptay (Communication Consultant, Summa Artium Award holder)

The Leopold Bloom Art Award is aimed at supporting progressive contemporary visual artists in Hungary and their presence in the international art scene. The Award endowed with 10.000 Euro is aimed at recognizing the work of a contemporary Hungarian visual artist and supporting the realization of an international exhibition taking place in co-operation with a renowned European art institution (museum, commercial or non-profit gallery) or prestigious international event (biennial, festival).
According to the decision of the jury consisting of three international art professionals the 2011 Leopold Bloom Art Award went to Róbert Batykó.
